Ben Seibel (1918-1985) is quoted as saying that the study of sculpture is one of the most important forces in his approach to design.  His first love was the study of music, then painting, sculpture, architecture, and finally industrial design at Pratt after time served in the US Air Force.  His started his own studio where he and his staff produced a wide variety of items, from dinnerware to glassware, from furniture to lighting, including his signature metal accessories and brass bookends.
