Loft Apartment Home Office Unit

Posted on Wednesday, January 27, 2010

This most recent project was created specifically for the clients loft apartment in Park Slope Brooklyn. The challenge was to create a piece that could be used as a home
office that would be in a open area of the lofts main room. The size of the space in addition to the ceiling height provided ample room to go big here, and we did just that
as the unit stretches over 10 feet long and 9 feet high. The asymmetrical spaces coupled with the varying frame profiles give the piece an architectural feel while keeping the
the eye moving and the mind engaged over the entire design.

The piece was executed in a satin lacquer finish with a cerused rift oak top and the Danish designed pulls are finished in a brushed aluminum.

2 rolling file units tuck away nicely under the piece and can be used in a variety of ways while working away at the desk.

The unit was bench made and delivered in pieces that were erected on site and put into place as one piece being leveled in place to the existing floor.

The clients artwork and tasteful art direction of the units storage and display areas will certainly add a personalized touch.

This unit has replaced an old trestle table that was the primary desk in the loft and the sleek design has opened up a once cluttered space.
